UNS Energy recognizes that energy efficiency can be an effective way to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. Both TEP and UES offer a variety of energy saving options for customers, from simple advice to incentives that encourage both homeowners and businesses to invest in efficient HVAC units and other environmentally sound upgrades. Their combined efforts have helped our customers save enough energy to offset the production of more than 900,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

Both TEP and UES are striving to achieve the aggressive goals in Arizona's Energy Efficiency Standard. The standard calls on electric utilities to increase the kilowatt-hour savings realized through customer-funded energy efficiency programs each year until the cumulative reduction in usage reaches 22 percent by 2020.

We are working with regulators to make sure utility rates are designed to ensure that our success in achieving these goals does not compromise our ability to recover our operating costs and earn a reasonable return on our investments in safe, reliable and environmentally sound service.
