UNS Energy is emerging as an industry leader in renewable energy, primarily through the development of solar power projects designed to capitalize on Arizona's most abundant natural resource.

Our development strategy targets an appropriate balance of utility-owned and privately developed resources, allowing us to quickly ramp up production while managing risk and limiting the costs passed on to our customers. We are making measured investments in competing solar technologies to determine which systems will produce the best long-term results for our company and our customers. We're also pursuing opportunities to diversify our renewable portfolio with wind, biomass and other green energy resources.

Through these efforts, both TEP and UES are on track to exceed the goals established by Arizona's Renewable Energy Standard. The standards provide funding from customers to help utilities increase their use of renewable energy each year until it represents 15 percent of their power in 2025.
